Understanding the Transaction Tab in Contact Dashboard
The Transaction Tab on your contacts dashboard enables you to handle all your financial transactions with either a customer or a supplier using just one platform. You do not need to navigate away to another module to understand your position with a customer.
What You'll Find in the Transaction Tab
The following are the various kinds of transactions that are demonstrated in the tab and are in a timeline order. On the selling side, there are various kinds of transactions such as quotes sent to customers, invoices sent to customers, credit notes for returns or corrections sent to customers, and finally, the receipts of payments. On the buying side, there are the following purchase orders that have been placed by you with the suppliers, and there are also purchase bills, payment vouchers for payments made by you, and finally debit notes in case of corrections.
Why This Matters
The fact that everything is right there in front of me makes my job a lot easier. If a customer calls me to inquire about their account, I do not have to look at several screens to get the information they are looking for. I am able to quickly review their quote history and payment habits to answer their questions or make decisions about credit and payment. It applies equally to your vendor connections as well. You can easily check whether or not there are pending payments on your account and also check your order history to see whether or not there are payments that are due.
What's Coming Next
Shortly, the Transaction Tab will contain bank transaction details from your connected bank accounts. That means that it will become easier to match payments because all this process will occur with no manual input required.
You will immediately see money transfers compared with bills and receipts.
The journal entries are also being incorporated so you can see accounting adjustments and other background entries. The Transaction Tab will thus become a comprehensively detailed accounting record for each contact.
Making the Most of It
Employ the Transaction Tab regularly, especially before important conversations with contacts. You can filter by transaction type when you need to focus on specific things like unpaid invoices. Keep an eye out for aging transactions to follow up on any late payments. The Transaction Tab makes contact management strategic, not just a matter of storing information, but giving you the insight you need to better manage your relationships, improve cash flow, and make more savvy business decisions based on actual transaction history.
